Our passion

We'd like to share with you our founder, Kento Yamamoto's passion on this business.

I was born and raised in Tokyo, and after graduating from university, I worked for an American IT company. While working as a salaried worker, I always loved local landscapes in Japan visited during my vacation, but also saw shuttered shopping streets and vacant houses, which made me feel a sense of crisis about the local economy. With a desire to promote local economies through tourism, I left the company in March 2023 and enrolled in Kyoto University's MBA program in tourism management in April of the same year in order to learn tourism from scratch.

In January 2024, while studying tourism management and pondering my future career path after graduation, the Noto Peninsula Earthquake occurred. With the fate with our members from Ishikawa having well-tenured experience in the lodging business, I determined to kick off our business from Kanazawa with the social mission of Noto recovery from the disaster.

Looking ahead, our vision extends beyond Kanazawa. We aspire to expand our operations to Noto in the mid- to long-term, contributing not only to the local economy but also to the reconstruction efforts of Noto.

In 2024, we chose the name "Akebono," meaning dawn and symbolizing new beginnings, as the emblem of our establishment in Kanazawa. It represents our unwavering commitment to the reconstruction and revitalization of Noto, embodying the passion that drives our business forward.

Value

Our three values:

1. Be a regional tourism "WOW" hub for all
2. "No frustrations" from the tourism experience
3. Be a place "I want to come back", "We hope you come back"

1. Be a regional tourism "WOW" hub for all

Tourism experiences are never completed only with lodging services.

For tourists to truly experience, lodging services must deeply engage with the local community and be welcomed. Therefore, it is essential for not only tourists to feel "WOW", but also local people to feel "WOW".

In many cases, tourists spend the longest time at the lodge. Hence, we recognize the crucial role of connecting the local community with tourists and aim to establish a regional tourism "WOW" hub for all.

2. "No frustrations" from the tourism experience

We have all experienced the "frustrations" of traveling, haven't we?

Carrying large luggage
Complicated reservation and check-in procedures
Different room facilities and amenities from the guidance

The "frustrations" are also true to the local people.

Littering by tourists
Entering private property to take pictures
Late-night disturb by guests at lodges

We recognize these tourism issues seriously and aim to achieve "No frustrations" from the tourism experience.

3.  Be a place "I want to come back", "We hope you come back"

After being the regional tourism "WOW" hub and achieving "No frustrations" from the tourism experience,

Tourists say "I want to come back"
Local people say "We hope you come back"

We aim to be a place where people love to gather spontaneously.
