Kento Yamamoto is the founder and CEO of KICKs Inc., a tourism innovation company based in Kyoto and Kanazawa, Japan.
Born and raised in Tokyo, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Hitotsubashi University.
He began his career at Amazon Japan, where he rapidly advanced through the Customer Service division. By his 20s, he was responsible for managing operations and strategic planning across a 2,000-person service network, working closely with teams in Japan, China, India, and the U.S. His time at Amazon sparked a deep interest in how systems and human behavior interact within large-scale organizations.
In 2023, driven by a strong belief in the transformative potential of tourism, he made a bold shift into the tourism sector. He enrolled in the Kyoto University Graduate School of Management (Tourism MBA Program), where he is set to graduate in March 2025.
In 2024, he founded KICKs Inc. with the mission of revitalizing local communities through sustainable tourism solutions.
The company now operates a traditional townhouse inn in Kanazawa, develops digital services such as the toilet map app "TOIMAP", and provides legal and operational consulting to new accommodation businesses. With a unique blend of hospitality management, tech development, and legal/accounting expertise, he offers comprehensive, real-world support for tourism projects across Japan.
